Can Nano Shampoo, Proxiphen-N, Copper Peptides, and Nitric Oxide Retain Hair Growth from Minoxidil for Hair Loss?- Monday, November 03, 2008

Question:

I am currently in the first stages of hair loss. I am taking Propecia daily and am considering using minoxidil. If I use minoxidil 5% for a full year and get good results, can I stop using it and use products containing nitric oxide and copper peptides to maintain what I have achieved with minoxidil? I plan on staying on Propecia. I would really like to use Dr. Proctor's multi-treatment formulas, namely his Nano Shampoo and conditioner and his Proxiphen-N which have nicotinic acid, nitric oxide, copper binding peptides, and SOD type hair growth stimulating agent. Also, do you know the difference between minoxidil and some of the other ingredients I've listed?

Answer:

The phrase "don't count on it" comes to mind. Minoxidil induced hair regrowth is typically dependent upon the minoxidil to survive.

There are a number of hair loss products on the market all said to stop male pattern baldness and cause hair regrowth. However, despite the many claims made, no product has proven to be as effective as Propecia (finasteride) and Rogaine (minoxidil). By using these two treatments, you are already using the "right stuff".

In my opinion, if you are going to consider alternative treatment options like Nano Shampoo, Proxiphen-N, copper peptides, and nitric oxide to try to stop hair loss, use them as adjunct treatments.
