Dr. Paul Rose performs follicular unit hair transplantation and was one of the first physicians in the early 1990’s to develop and implement this refined procedure.

He is internationally recognized for his ideas for achieving a natural hairline and has lectured widely and written numerous articles on hair restoration. Recently he contributed his writing to the new edition of the book, "Hair Transplantation", edited by Dr. Walter Unger and Dr. Ronald Shapiro.

Dr. Rose is recognized for developing the concept of backlighting and some of the devices used for this purpose. He has also invented the micrograft facilitator.

Dr. Rose is currently the President of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) and serves on its Board of Governors. He is also the chairman of its Pro Bono Committee, which is dedicated to helping indigent individuals who sufferer from hair loss due to trauma or disease to restore their hair.

Dr. Rose has served as the director of the beginner's course for the ISHRS and in 2000 he served as Chairman of the Scientific Program for the annual ISHRS meeting. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee and the Live Surgery Workshop Committee for the ISHRS for the past few years.

In 2002 Dr. Rose was a recipient of the Michelangelo Award from the Italian Society of Hair Restoration.

Dr. Rose has been an invited faculty member to the Orlando Live Surgery Workshops sponsored by the ISHRS. He has demonstrated the technique of follicular unit grafting and has lectured on various topics such as hairline creation and backlighting. He has also been invited to speak for Pharmacia on the subjects of medical therapies for hair loss and the use of medications for hair loss in women.

Dr. Rose is a board certified dermatologist and is a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology. He has a position on the clinical faculty of the University of South Florida Department of Dermatology and is active in clinical research.

Dr. Rose did his residency training at Temple University Skin and Cancer Hospital in Philadelphia. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and did his internship at the University of Connecticut Medical Center.
