Dr. Vogel is very "hands on" beginning with the patient consultation and through the post op follow up. He does all his own consultations, does all the anesthesia, donor removal, creates all the incisions for the grafts, and places many of the follicular unit grafts himself.

While many surgeons often simply "camouflage" larger grafts or "plugs" with small grafts, Dr. Vogel goes well beyond this in reducing, removing, and recycling the old hair grafts. His extensive experience as a board certified plastic surgeon has given him a uniquely strong set of skills for doing this surgical "repair work".

Dr. Vogel prides himself in doing quality not quantity work. He typically does three to five hair transplantations per week, performing state of the art follicular unit grafting.

Dr. Vogel is also very involved in contributing to his profession and sharing his techniques with his peers. He is a past president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (1996 - 1997) and was the chairman of the scientific committee from 1993 to 1999. He remains actively involved in lecturing and writing with many surgical societies and professional organizations.

He has published numerous articles and written several text book chapters on hair restoration surgery. Dr. Vogel received his plastic training as a plastic surgeon at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Division of Plastic Surgery.

 Dr. James Vogel is an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Division of Plastic Surgery, was named a Top Doc by Baltimore MagazineDr. Vogel's prominent reputation lead ABC New's 20/20 News Magazine to interview him as an expert on hair restoration surgery.
