Dr. Griffin is a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who has specialized in hair transplantation since 1976, performing thousands of hair transplant procedures. He has lectured and written extensively over the years in advancing hair transplantation and is a highly regarded expert on state of the art hair transplantation. Cosmetic surgeons from around the world regularly visit his clinic to observe his very refined hair transplantation techniques.

Dr. Griffin’s very experienced staff prepare all the 1, 2 and 3 hair follicular unit grafts using microscopes exclusively. Dr. Griffin carefully creates all the incisions for these grafts using very small custom cut blades. By carefully controling the angle and direction of these incisions he can achieve a very natural pattern and direction for the new hair.

The special instruments he uses create tiny and minimally invasive incisions that enable very small grafts to be placed close together. This enables his patients to achieve cosmetic density in a given area after only one surgical session.

Due to the large amount of time and attention he and his staff devote to the patient, they often limit themselves to doing only one patient per day. In addition to doing excellent large all micro ultra refined hair transplantation sessions, he also frequently repairs patients who have had outdated procedures performed. He and his staff are also very experienced in performing Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) with excellent results.

Dr. Griffin is very committed to using the most advanced technology and techniques to assure that his patients get optimal results with a minimum of discomfort. He uses the pain free “Wand” in place of needles for administering anesthesia to make the procedure virtually pain free. He also often uses advanced digital imaging aids for patient education during his consultations.

Dr. Griffin’s strong background as a dermatologic surgeon has enabled him to develop strong competencies, not only in performing follicular unit hair transplant surgery, but also in performing bald scalp reduction procedures. However, he now rarely performs these procedures, since current hair transplant procedures have rendered these procedures unnecessary.

Unlike many of the commercial hair transplant clinics that advertise aggressively in the media, Dr. Griffin does very little advertising. Instead he receives the majority of his patients as referrals from his many happy patients and from the many cosmetic surgeons who know the quality of his work.

He has worked individually with Dadour of Paris, the Ungers of Toronto, Alt of Minnesota, Mayer and Fleming of Beverly Hills, Pitanguy of Rio de Janeiro, Yarborough of New Orleans, and Barrnet of New York.

Dr. Griffin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the clinical faculty at Emory University Medical School and is on the staffs at Scottish Rite Children's, Northside, and St. Joseph's Hospitals.
