Brazilian Keratin Treatment after Hair Restoration

Question:

I had hair restoration two weeks ago due to hair loss and I want to do a Brazilian Keratin Treatment. I am not sure whether I can still do it post-transplant. If I can do it, how long do I need to wait?

Answer:

Although hair grafts are securely anchored by 10 days after hair restoration surgery, it is recommended that hair loss patients wait at least three weeks before applying chemicals such as hair dye and permanent wave lotion. Those chemicals are mild when compared to a Brazilian Keratin Treatment which often contains a very high level of formaldehyde.

In my opinion you should wait at least one month before undergoing this treatment again but I highly recommend consulting with your hair loss surgeon regarding this.

I also recommend that you opt for the formaldehyde free treatments being offered by many hair salons these days.
