I have male pattern hair loss and I am wondering if surgical hair restoration will work for me. I would really like to have a full head of hair again.
It is important to understand that, in most cases, hair transplant surgery will not result in a return to natural density but rather create an illusion of density. Whether or not you are a candidate for hair restoration surgery will depend on many factors including but not limited to, your degree of hair loss, the quality and density of donor hair and your skin/scalp characteristics. We recommend prospective hair loss patients spend a considerable amount of time researching the procedure, evaluating physicians and viewing before and after photos prior to scheduling a procedure. If possible, arrange to meet some patients in person to evaluate their results.
I highly recommend reading the following article from our Hair Loss Q&A Blog. It will point you in the right direction and guide you through the steps to becoming a well-informed hair transplant patient, Preparing for Hair Restoration: How to do the Research.
