Hair Loss Myths

Does Wearing a Hat Cause Hair Loss?

Question:

It's been said many times by several that wearing hats can make you go bald or thin. Is there any truth to this?

Answer:

This is an age old hair loss myth and still believed today by many.

You are safe to wear any hat you'd like without risking losing any hair. Of course, if you are suffering from genetic male pattern baldness, you will lose hair susceptible to DHT. But thinning hair or balding won't occur as a result of wearing a hat.
