Hairline repair result and persisting hair greed by Dr. Lindsey

Take a look at this guy's hairline.  First off he had a low yield strip case elsewhere that was a bit too low on his forehead...but once the hairline was put there, he and I just opted to pack it.  He looks fantastic and of course...has a bit of hair greed thinking that just a couple more placed here or there would finish him off....  It might finish off his bank account but there is no place to put any more hair on his hairline right now.  I told him to spend that money on another ski trip and roll back in in a few years.

3 months out from 2nd case, waiting to grow with Dr. Lindsey

Our patient Jimmy was bald...and we did a medium sized case a while back.  Medium due to his fairly limited donor density.  Nevertheless, he grew in quite nicely and we did a second case 3 months ago, adding a few hundred singles to his left hairline and working back toward the crown.

All of our recent work has shed and we're just waiting.  He drove through the area for business and stopped by for this short video.

I'm sure we'll see him for results next autumn.

6 years out from Dr. Lindsey FUE repair

In this extended interview with Alex, now a nurse, we delve into his initial journey to Mexico for a bad result low hairline, wide scar strip case that we repaired in 2012 with FUE.   Listen to his journal of trying to find a bargain, getting repaired...and then spending years trying to laser off the low plugs put in and micro-needle the cobblestoning from those same plugs.  What a journey.  It had been several yaers since we saw Alex and he'd brought his mom in for a procedure and Wendy was able to get him to give us this patient perspective.   Around 10 minutes in he reviews some of the high points in Spanish.

Dr. Lindsey 2 years out from front and temples

This younger Indian fellow had autoextracted his temple hair and lost the front triangles.  He rolled in at 2 years and looks great..did a nice 5 minute interview...then just as we were posting this, said his girlfriend didn't want him to be video'd....so we snipped it out but his pics are great.  Take a look.  Particularly his left temple was so natural I'd completely forgotten we did anything there...and typically that is a tougher area to get to look really natural due to the caliber and angle of the hairs.

Short hair style after transplant by Dr. Lindsey

This guy is one of the tougher guys we've worked with.  Not only is he a machine when it comes to tough guy stuff, but he's a pleasant fellow and he likes classic rock...so much in fact I lost a big bet to him during his first surgery.

Results with short hair are really tests of the entire hair transplant team.  The finer hair grafts can't be killed or damaged as there really is no "layering" buffer.  AND the donor scar is a concern.  Frankly he looks better in person and I'm a consistently inconsistent photographer...but he tells you his thoughts in the short interview.

Younger guy 10 months out from frontal case Dr. Lindsey

Here's a young guy we talk with about 10 months out from his frontal case.  Although not completely grown in, he looks great and will only improve over the next 3 months.  He keeps a short haircut and we show his scar up close.

Early 6 month growth in 23 year old by Dr. Lindsey

I've posted lots of younger guy's cases and a number of videos discussing how I think its key to avoid stupid decision making in hair restoration...especially younger guys who are "sold" a case that is not appropriate for them. Specifically, we encourage parents to come with the younger patients, always do a mature hairline...even if its not what all the young guy's young friends have...and we plan for future work down the road. Too many times a week I see a kid who has either a goofy low sparse hairline and is balding behind it and will never look natural, or a kid who really needed nothing yet...but had a surgery just to "prevent" balding.

Do your research!

This video is a 23 year old who is 6 months out. He looks to be growing at about the average pace...but it is still somewhat sparse. Guys recognize you will go through a period like this. And so that you can actually see what it looks like at 6 months with fine hair...watch our patient. Just this morning I saw a guy who was told by a doctor's salesperson...right in our area...that he'd be really growing well by his wedding in 5 months. I sadly said he should have started 7 months earlier but he should not do a case this close to his wedding. I suspect he's still going to proceed with the other doctor as they apparently sounded pretty convincing. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Hairline repair at almost 6 years by Dr. Lindsey

This guy walked in a few weeks ago and I'd completely forgotten he'd had work done at a big hair chain in the early 2000's.   When you see his preop with us, you might wonder...like I did...did they do anything?

Anyhow, he and I had both lost track of time.  Instead of just 2 years out, he's nearly 6.  And like a lot of guys he's his own worst critic.  At some point I suspect we'll put a few more hairs where he's thinned but there is certainly no rush to do that.

23 year old a year out, with advice to younger guys by Dr. Lindsey

Here's a younger guy that popped in 2 weeks ago, now 14 months out from frontal triangles and a little across the front.  Wendy and I discuss his case, and our tips for younger patients.  Any patient can use our conservative advice, but particularly younger guys, who may be panicking with the first hair falling out....we try to keep you from doing and impulse buy of a hair transplant.  There is never a rush.  Do your research, ask your family.  AND don't pick a low goofy hairline that won't age well.  LASTLY plan for the future.  It may be worth waiting til hair loss is worse, or at least acknowledging that you'll need more surgery in the future.

8.5 month hairline by Dr. Lindsey

Here's an interesting guy who got a nice frontal "u" by us last winter.  In addition to reviewing his case, Wendy tells you some of her thoughts on density of hair placement and factors that make transplants look more or less dense at the end of the case.

Awesome hairline at a year Dr. Lindsey

Take a look at Geoffrey, now a year and a week out.  Some of you guys may recall his 8 month video.   As expected...he has some hair greed and despite having gobs of hair...he's thinking about another one.  Hopefully I've discouraged that for a while as he looks fantastic.
